Episode 101 - Star Trek Insurrection Film Review!

September 12, 2018

We continue our long running series of reviewing every film in the Muppets and Star Trek film franchises with an in depth review of Star Trek: Insurrection! Generally considered a “meh” film, see if our opinions differ from that!

Steve will give us a lesson about real life insurrections throughout history. We also have Nerdy News of UFOs possibly monitoring Donald Trump and child warfare that may have prepared early humans for everyday life.

Then we’ll have the return of Technobabble Improv! Where Steve is given a randomized bit of dialog full of Treknobabble, and he has to improv a short scene to go with it.

Following that we have some Radical Recommends, a game of Would You Rather, and then Trailer Reviews of the Halloween reboot (ish) and the UFO flick, Beyond the Sky.

Intro music provided with permission by the awesome Jimmy Hinson of Big Giant Circles. Find him Bandcamp or iTunes!

Episode 98 - SDCC Recap and Muppets From Space!

July 31, 2018

San Diego Comic Con is over and boy did it have a lot of Nerdy News! We'll cover all that and review the many trailers that were released along with it. Including Star Wars casting and info on the Wonder Woman sequel! See the listing of all the trailers we used for the episode HERE

For our main segment we'll be continuing our ongoing segment of reviewing all the Star Trek and Muppet films, with...  Muppets from Space!

In light of Muppets from Space largely being considered a failure, Steve will discuss other random failures made by big companies throughout the years.

Then join us for some slightly different Radical Recommends to round out the episode.

Episode 95 - Defending Battlefield Earth

June 21, 2018

Today, we are doing something unprecedented. We're going to defend the film, Battlefield Earth! Well, Steve is going to defend it. All in a new segment called, To the Death! - Where we will take critically panned (and audience panned) movies and one of us must try to defend them, for whatever merits they may possess. In some cases, we may actually like the film, which in this case, Steve does! I know...crazy right?

Then we have some Nerdy News, where we'll discuss the troubling allegations against nerd icon, Chris Hardwick, and talk about some upcoming sequel films you probably didn't know were on their way.

Then we'll have the return of the Preternatural Penetration segment. Sticking with the theme of aliens from our featured movie, Jarman tells the story of a possible UFO crash that happened in Iceland in the 1950s.

In an extended Radical Recommends segment, Steve discusses how much his daughter loves Moana, which led to him doing research into the real myths behind the character of Maui from that film (the Rock). Join us on a historical deep dive!

Finally, for Trailer Reviews, we cover the upcoming Bumbebee Transformers spinoff, and the "live action" remake of Dumbo that no one asked for. Bumbo!
