Episode 9 - Nerd Books!!!

Channing Tatum Murders Gambit, H.R. Giger Has Grown More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine, Wheel Of Time, Ender's Game and More!!

BOOOOOOKS!

Steve and Jarman return to tell you about some sad Nerdy News. We talk about the passing of H.R. Giger, (which I found out afterwards we were pronouncing his name wrong this whole episode), and the recent announcement that Channing Tatum will take on the role of Gambit for an upcoming X-Men movie.

We then break out a new segment called Factoid Fumbles! This is where Steve throws out one thing, any one thing in the universe, and Jarman has to spout out one simple fact about it, no matter what it is. The results are ridiculous.

In our feature, we tackle the world of literature for the first time, with Steve and Jarman talking about some of their favorite books, including Ender's Game, Wheel of Time, Ender's Shadow, Runelords, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

We then delve into some more Hypothetical Hubub, where we present some pretty zany hypothetical situations, posed by the author Chuck Klosterman. We're curious to hear what you guys and gals would do in those same situations.

In trailer reviews this week, we cover the documentaries, Cyber Seniors and Code Black, along with post-apocalyptic The Rover.

Knock-off ice cream, a new T-Rex discovered, Double Dragon Vs Street Fighter, and Raul Julia has cancer

Bad vs Worst - But lots of too-tall dyed blond hair

It's time for some more Copy Cat Cinema! This week we pit Double Dragon Vs. Street Fighter in a no holds barred 90s cage match! Oops, looks like they both fell flat on their face and lost the fight at the same time. Listen to the episode to see which one loses harder. Also, a new species of dinosaur and the Oculus Rift with military applications in Nerd News, some listener feedback, and Trailer Reviews! This week: A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Wedding Video, and Malignant.

A Play On Nerds - Episode 7

Tabletop RPGs Mega-Episode! Also, Chili Peppers, Space Microwaves, And Our First Guest!

Why is it that groups always seem to form in a tavern. Such unruly places.

Ep. 7 starts with some happy news about Steve's hair, and some distubing news involving Jarman and Spiderman's thong.... You have to listen to understand. Nerdy News turns into Steve and Jarman pondering the past and future of the human race. Then we jump into the feature segment where we have our first guest! Mr. Cameron Fischer! He is an author and programmer who also happens to be a very experienced Game Master! (Or DM/GM for short folks....get on the Tabletop RPG train folks... it's leaving the Gnomish station...) We chat him up about everything from what kind of adventuring group works, to what kind of Skills and Feats you should be using as a player, and probably are not! Then stick around for some more awful PornMD smut searches and some lovely trailer reviews. This week: Green Inferno, Anna, and the new Japanese release for the Godzilla trailer.

A Play On Nerds - Episode 6

Mystics, Wizards, Whale Sounds, Marvel and Mayhem: X-Men Galore, Trivia and Wolverine Has a Surprise for You!

This week, we delve into some fascinating sciences news, including mysterious ocean sounds explained and breakthroughs in anti-aging!

Then Jarman poses some very unique questions to Steve in our new segment, "Hypothetical Hubub," based off the series of questions by Chuck Klosterman - Some really weird stuff to get you thinking.

In our feature we delve into the Marvel Universe again, this time focusing solely on the lovely X-Men. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH WOLVERINE?! Steve challenges Jarman and you all to "Name That Power!" where he gives the names of some more... obscure mutants from the Marvel universe, and we have to guess what powers they could possibly have. I seriously feel sorry for some of these mutants. They're just lame. We also pose a question to you, the listeners, to answer, as well as a trivia question: The first listener to respond to it gets a prize!

Poseidon Rex: The derpiest of CGI dinosaurs.

Finally, we have more trailer reviews! This time, X-Men: Days of Future Past (How appropriate right? It's like we planned that or something), Jesse Eisenberg in The Double, and the cinematic masterpiece, and no doubt Oscar contender, Poseidon Rex!!!

A Play On Nerds - Episode 5

Red-haired Sasquatches, Doom Porn, Derpy Cats, Alien Invasions, Unfortunate Smut Searches and more!

Bruce Willis's giant face? Or two faceless people hugging? YOU DECIDE!

This week the resident nerds Jarman and Steve play with some sparkly new segments along with some "old" ones. First we throw you a couple topics from our grab bag of Nerdy News, then we share a bit of Cat Commiseration with you, where we vent about the tortured life that we share with those monsters of cuteness, our cats. Then we delve into Copy Cat Cinema once again with two "disastrous" films, Armageddon and Deep Impact. Which version of the eastern seaboard getting destroyed do you prefer? Find out what we think. Then we get another dose of Brooklyn Indie Band or Smut Search followed by Jarman's Preternatural Penetration (SO DIRTY!) where Steve tries to poke holes in some of Jarman's favorite paranormal cases. The whole episode is topped off with a healthy dose of trailer reviews, including Alien Abduction, Earth to Echo, and Guardians of the Galaxy!

Lil Bub sees what you did there. He does not appreciate your slander.
