Episode 128 - Hell and Back - From the Ashes Review

September 27, 2019

Today we go back into the archives of our trailer reviews and find the films that we gave “burn it” reviews to. This film is from our show way back in 2015, where Hell and Back received a “burn it” review and now we both watched it and give the terrible results. Ooof. It’s terrible.

We also cover: The reboots of Princess Bride and Battlestar Galacitca, inequality in the workplace with a new spin, Radical Recommends with Documentary Now and the YouTube channel Behind the Screen, and Trailer Reviews of Netflix’s Living with Yourself and In the Tall Grass.

Episode 85 - Stranger Things Season 2! - Recap and Review

November 17, 2017

Have you finally watched season 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix?! Well on the feature segment today we recap and review the whole thing! What characters did you like? Was there too much action? Too much character development? What was with that one episode that wasn't even in Hawkins Indiana? We tackle it all.

For Nerdy News we cover the mysterious time travelling gambler who can't lose, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's record breaking box office receipts, and a new algorithm that can diagnose you over social media!

Then Jarman brings back an old segment, Preternatural Penetration, where we talk about the real "historical" mysteries surrounding the Montauk Project that inspired the story of Stranger Things. Then Steve sets the stage for us to jump into 80s nostalgia with some fun facts about early arcade games.

After the feature we have some arcade trivia: Is it a 1980s arcade game title? Or failed sci-fi TV show?

For Trailer Reviews we cover Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built and The New Mutants. Keeping things strange....

Then join us for some more Radical Recommends we know you'll love. A jam packed episode!

Episode 80 - Comic Con Trailer Roundup 2017!

August 9, 2017

It's that time of year again! When San Diego Comic Con is flooded with releases of all kinds of trailers and sneak previews of all the geeky/nerdy movies and TV shows on the docket for the upcoming year. We take a look at the highlights and let you know what has us excited...and bored. You can find a list with most everything we cover here.

We also pack in TWO games! We bring back Hypothetical Hubub, (a disturbing version of "would you rather") and Indie Band or Smut Search! If you don't already know that game, you'll have to listen to understand.

For Nerdy News we cover synthetic food made from air, a near miss from a flying planetary body, Brazil's economy compared to World of Warcraft, and terrifying AI made by Facebook!
