Episode 46 (Minus 4) - Don't Panic!

Our guest Paul Wright, all the way from Liverpool, England is an expert fan of all things related to Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. He helps us discuss the whole franchise in the feature segment; from the awesome radio series it started off as, to the books, television shows and finally the feature film.

Before we jump in the odd end of the galaxy, we have some Nerdy News, where we discuss the recent revelation of flowing water on Mars, and the recent scientific testing that (once again) shows that autism is not caused by vaccinations. Sorry Donald Trump...

Steve also returns with the fan favorite, 5-Minute Aficionado! Before he taught you how to be an expert with wine and cigars, now he teaches you the ins and outs of getting a professional massage :)

Jarman has returned from his trip with Twitch lead and Video Game Correspondent, Patrick, to Atlanta, GA for the largest geeky convention on the east coast of the U.S. - DragonCon! He covers a little bit of what he experienced there, but please subscribe to our YouTube channel (YouTube.com/APlayOnNerds) to see all the video and interviews we took posted there very soon.

We also cover the passing of horror director and writer, Wes Craven. His unique contribution to film will certainly be missed.

We also cover some Nerdy News involving strangely evolved animals and recent skunk ape sightings in Florida.

Episode 43 - Reality Kings: EdTV VS The Truman Show

Join us this wee as week on the podcast as we see the triumphant return or our re-occurring segment, Copy Cat Cinema! This time with EdTV VS The Truman Show! It's where we take 2 movies made around the same time, with all-too-similar plots. Some of our previous entries have been Gremlins VS Critters, or Armaggeddon VS Deep Impact, Volcano VS Dante's Peak... you get the idea. Then we both pick a movie and defend it as the better of the two films, whether we believe it or not!

We start off the show with some Nerdy News; Japan developing Star Trek-like holodeck technology, and the continued evolution of polar bears!

We then have a brief chat about the history of reality TV, and some of the producer secrets from behind the scenes.

Then after the feature segment, Steve breaks out the funny with his Random Reality TV Show Title Generator. The results are ridiculous in their realistic-ness!
