With CBS's recent announcement of a new Star Trek TV series officially on the horizon, we figure it's the perfect time to wildly speculate as to what it will be about! When will it be set? Who will be cast? What universe will it be in?! We try to guess at the answer to these questions and more. For much needed help in this giant discussion we are joined buy Chris Mitchell from the Ten Forward Podcast, and Ryan Porter from Positively Nerdy! Episode 48 - Halloween Villains Special

October 29, 2015

In this special early release of A Play On Nerds we discuss all of our favorite villains of movies, TV, comics and video games, in honor of Halloween weekend!

Before the feature we discuss some Nerdy News with a tale of a possible real life zombie attack on an airliner and also some Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan theories.

Steve tests Jarman's knowledge of villains with Sidekick Showdown where he names the villain's sidekick/minion and we have to guess what villain they roll with.

Jarman also plays Villainous Voices, where he plays the sound clip of the villain and you have to guess what villain made those villainous utterances. There are some real softballs in there...

At the end, we have some great trailers to review, with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, and the upcoming Seth Rogan/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Anthony Mackie vehicle, The Night Before.

Episode 46 (Minus 4) - Don't Panic!

Our guest Paul Wright, all the way from Liverpool, England is an expert fan of all things related to Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. He helps us discuss the whole franchise in the feature segment; from the awesome radio series it started off as, to the books, television shows and finally the feature film.

Before we jump in the odd end of the galaxy, we have some Nerdy News, where we discuss the recent revelation of flowing water on Mars, and the recent scientific testing that (once again) shows that autism is not caused by vaccinations. Sorry Donald Trump...

Steve also returns with the fan favorite, 5-Minute Aficionado! Before he taught you how to be an expert with wine and cigars, now he teaches you the ins and outs of getting a professional massage :)

Episode 45 - DragonCon 2015 Recap and More!!

Jarman has returned from his trip with Twitch lead and Video Game Correspondent, Patrick, to Atlanta, GA for the largest geeky convention on the east coast of the U.S. - DragonCon! He covers a little bit of what he experienced there, but please subscribe to our YouTube channel (YouTube.com/APlayOnNerds) to see all the video and interviews we took posted there very soon.

We also cover the passing of horror director and writer, Wes Craven. His unique contribution to film will certainly be missed.

On a less sad note, Steve also introduces us to the new line of Apple products that were recently announced. Gotta get 'em all!
