Can you believe we have to wait a full month and ten days until we get the next episode? I know I should be used to the whole winter break stuff the CW does around the holidays, but damn...this will be rough. I feel like so much yet so little happened in this episode. I can’t even lie and pretend like I remember the psychic girl’s name, but we see her come back this episode. But, that was expected since Jodi set that up at the end of the episode psychic girl was on. So, from now forward, we will only be referring to her as PG for psychic girl. Scratch that, I remember now, it’s Patience. Apparently that’s what I needed to remember her name as well. It’s certainly something her dad needs to learn as well. You think he would get used to this whole “I come from a family of psychics” thing. I’m just glad she trusted herself when she got the vision of Jodi and chose to go to her.
While I am confessing things, I must admit I was a little disappointed at being misled when it comes to Jack’s intentions at the start of this episode. I kind of liked the idea of Jack going rogue and being evil like his dad. It sure would have been a lot more interesting than the emo crap we have been seeing from him. But I guess the reality of the situation was pretty sweet too. The whole moment in the car after he was reunited with the Winchester’s and they professed they’re all family was, as the kids say, totes adorbs.
Then we have Derrick, the dreamwalker who Jack had gone to see about “The Bad Place”. We didn’t know at the start of the episode, but Jack’s intention wasn’t to find his dad, but Mary instead. But we can’t blame Dean for thinking otherwise. I mean, part angel or not, his dad is the ultimate fallen and genes speak wonders for our personalities. Luckily for us, so does environment and all of Sam’s coddling, so it seemed to balance things. I must admit though, the angels are pretty messed up for killing Derrick. I’m sure he could have been more help to them had they given it time and not had been so hell bent on finding Jack. I’m just grateful Jack heard of Kaia from Derrick before the angels did him in, because seeing him awkwardly try to profess his non-existent drug use was everything. Being street smart, Kaia did a great job trying to escape from Jack once he helped her escape rehab. Unfortunately, Dean’s patience had run out the second he found his mom was alive and he completely lost his cool. Full on psycho mode. Quite the opposite of what Hunters stand for, but honestly, can you blame him? He’s lost her before and refuses to again. Poor Mary though, she is some serious trouble. And I am not quite sure after all the drama that went down between getting Kaia and fighting off the angels that Jack even got to her in time. When they show him there at her feet she seemed to have succumbed to the pain. And now we have to wait over a freaking month to see just how grave her condition is!
There are a few other mysteries this episode leaves us with that make me absolutely bonkers! When Jack used Kaia to get to the world Mary is in, what exactly happened to her? We only see her on the side of the road. We see the Winchester’s in a world that looks quite similar to Jurassic Park. After everything they have been through fighting off all kinds of monsters, I’m not sure they can handle dinosaurs. And I am pretty sure they’re unarmed so that makes things way worse.
I really can’t wait until January. I miss Castiel, as he hasn’t been around again. And dare I say I miss Lucifer? He cracks me up and I can’t wait to see what revenge he has in mind for the crazy alternate Michael. Of course I can’t wait to see how the Winchester’s get themselves out of their dino dilemma either.
